Nearfield Ambisonic Binaural Synthesis
Dylan Menzies
Nearfield HRTFs can be calculated from farfield HRTFs using spherical and planar wave representations. We investigate ways to optimize this process, and its robustness.
Nearfield HRTFs over a range of distances can be calculated from HRTFs measured at a single distance, by using Fourier-Bessel expansions. We investigate ways to optimize this process by choosing expansion centres that are not head-centred, with the aim of synthesizing distance variation due to the pinna.
